This edition has been designed from Mathias Martinez’s drawings — inspired by Querelle of Brest by Jean Genet — and my poem Eux dans l’eau (“Them in water”, which is also a pun related to the french name of the grapheme “œ”), inspired by Mathias Martinez’s drawings — who forbade me to read Querelle of Brest before finishing the poem.

Tu me cueilles au petit matin
avec mes cernes et mes chansons
Bleu comme un rêve
Voilà que tu t’ébats
dans un Café Semblant
sur le vieux quai caduc
du grand port
de Moureux
J’ai digéré mes larmes
pour les repisser sur la berge
et puis les repleurer
Alors j’étranglerai le jars
Comme si j’avais pu conserver tous tes sourires dans un bocal (…)”
